About
The origin of the firm, and of the conviction it is built on.
The observation
Beacon Harbor began with an observation its founders could not put down: equity markets pay a persistent premium for short-dated crash protection, and the sellers of that protection keep being destroyed by it. The opportunity was never a secret. The discipline to survive it was the missing part.
The founding
Yarin Kirchen and Bob Leaf founded the firm to build that discipline as infrastructure. Yarin brought nearly two decades from the execution side of equities trading at Jefferies, HSBC, RBC Capital Markets, and Balyasny Asset Management. Bob brought founding capital and strategy research contributions. In August 2025, strategy research began, led by Tyler Prahm.
Our own capital first
The strategy was validated the only honest way available to a new firm: with the founders' own money. It has traded live individual capital since April 2026, signaling daily, on infrastructure built to institutional standards from the first day. A pooled vehicle for a small circle of accredited investors follows in September 2026, administered independently.
The name
A beacon marks the entrance. A harbor shelters what it admits. Between them sits the narrows: the fixed channel that decides how much passes. The name is the strategy. The boundaries are set at entry, and the size of what moves through them is the only variable.
The BHC Philosophy
Drive Partnerships
We treat investors, providers, and each other as partners in the same outcome. Credit is shared, information flows, and nobody wins alone.
People First
Systems run the capital path, and people build the systems. We hire carefully, invest in each other, and protect the standard that made the work worth doing.
Constantly Evolve
Every regime teaches. The research loop never closes, models are rebuilt when evidence demands it, and yesterday's edge is treated as today's hypothesis.
Challenge the Norm
Most of this industry runs on convention. We ask why before we ask how, and we are willing to look wrong early to be right late.
Risk disclosure
Investing in securities involves risk, including the possible loss of the entire amount invested. Options strategies carry particular risks: defined risk structures limit but do not eliminate loss, and strategies that sell options can experience losses substantially exceeding the premium collected. Past performance, whether actual or simulated, does not guarantee future results. Any offering of interests in a fund managed by Beacon Harbor is made only through confidential offering documents, which contain a fuller statement of risks, and only to investors who meet applicable eligibility requirements. Nothing on this website is investment, legal, accounting, or tax advice.
What we are building
A firm where survival is the strategy, process outranks conviction, and every figure an investor reads is produced by systems rather than promises. The story is early by design. We would rather write it slowly and correctly than quickly.
